Compendium of International Methods of Analysis of Wine and Must

HOME PAGE

Dear Madam / Sir,

The Sub Commission on the Methods of Analysis (SCMA) of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine ( OIV ) has as one of his main responsibilities to develop oenological methods of analysis with a view to completing and updating existing methods in the Compendium of International Methods of Wine and Must Analysis, according to the advanced technologies and techniques commonly used by analysts.

To better align priorities in its review, it is important to know what is the level of use of the methods of the Compendium of International Methods of Wine and Must Analysis published by the OIV and used in the world as the reference in this field.

Also, it is important to identify the adjustments made to the different methods, even the minor ones, to try to unify the drafting and unequivocally refer to the full use of the OIV methods, particularly in accredited laboratories by ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

Moreover, it is important to know other methods that are commonly used in laboratories that do not appear in the International Compendium of Analytical Methods, but the timeliness and relevance of these will lead, of course, to a clear improvement in the day-to-day work.

For these purposes, two questionnaires (Part I and Part II) are now proposed. In the Framework of the OIV Strategic Plan these questionnaires collect appropriate information on the status of application of OIV methods and about non-OIV methods used by laboratories for analysis of wines and musts. We ask you to kindly answer as fully as possible the questions that are asked.

Once you have registered your laboratory, you will be able to enter the questionnaire with chosen username and password (for more details look at the sections General information and Frequent asked questions FAQ’s).

You can execute your task gradually, in an easy way, always under control, using the Memorandum file. You are also kindly asked to disseminate the link www.oivmetanalysis.org to all concerned laboratories, inviting them to fill in the questionnaire with all necessary information that will be then assembled and processed by an OIV specific Unit.
OIV would greatly appreciate your assistance in helping to raise awareness about this questionnaire.

Examination of the replies is scheduled for March 2012.

Thank you in advance for the time dispensed to these questionnaires.

If you require any further information, feel free to contact us by the email address contact@oivmetanalysis.org

Yours faithfully,
